BAE Govan Scotland

This Ministry of Defence site project was awarded on little notice which allowed only a short period for the extensive vetting process and procurement. Working alongside the MoD, Principle Mechanical Contractor and the various other trades, two Mitsubishi Electric VRF Heat Recovery Systems were installed to provide heating and cooling to the prefabricated office space, these systems also incorporated hot water generation.

Nationwide HQ

Employed to change out the ageing existing critical server room cooling systems on a live building over 3 floors.  As each floor had 3 fan coil units in each server room on a run and standby basis, it was absolutely essential that 2 fan coils had to remain operational at all times. with the amount of sensitive computing equipment also operating, cleanliness and housekeeping was crucial. Installing new systems around existing services should have proven problematic but our team of engineers addressed any issues head on ensuring the project was completed to high standards.

NHS

Several projects have been completed on NHS premises working with the Principle Mechanical Contractor on mainly MRI and Xray suite upgrades. Each site has been a live hospital where consideration for NHS and patients alike has been the main focus ensuring that minimum disruption. Project work did not abate for any period during the Covid Pandemic therefore ensuring that whilst abiding to Government, NHS and Contractor guidelines and standards, our own team ensured that we went above and beyond what was required to ensure the best could that works were able to continue.

Linthwaite House

Asked to design a system that could heat and cool as well as introduce fresh air into a Function and Meeting Room within a prestigious lakes hotel.  On the initial site survey it was quickly identified that space was a premium. Working with the Building Contractors, we were able to Design, Install and commission a system that met all customer requirements whilst managing to hide the interconnecting services from view.
During the course of the installation works, we were asked to design and install an extract system for the main Kitchen area and WC’s. All of the works were carried out to extremely high exacting standards in keeping with the hotels general outlook.

Christleton Court

The Whalley Climate team were involved with this project at the very early stages of the construction process, offering initial design and costs for tender of several differing systems, those being VRF/VRV and Split Systems of numerous manufacturer’s ensuring cost effective, efficient systems. The project went through several design changes where the Air Conditioning element was adjusted to suit clients needs.
Once design had been confirmed we were able to supply and install all systems. Our team worked closely with the electrical contractors to design the reflective ceiling plan ensuring that fan coil units and light fittings were installed in manner that gave the required lux levels but was also aesthetically correct. Part way through this project we were also able to take on the extract ventilation for all WC’s and canteen, the extract systems were designed to ensure the correct extraction rates were achieved.

Totally Wicked

Employed originally by a Mechanical Contractor we were to supply and install two Samsung VRV systems over 5 phases of project work, to enable this close co-operation was required between all those concerned including Totally Wicked staff as production was to continue.
Several design options were looked at during the installation period as changes were made and our design team were able to assist throughout. Although there was a change of Mechanical Contractor during the contracted works we were able to continue seamlessly which is a credit to our installation team.

Moss Hall Kitchens

Contacted by the owner of Moss Hall kitchens we were asked to initially suggest a cooling solution for his bespoke kitchen showroom, with the vast majority of the showroom being glazed heat gain was a huge problem for himself and his prospective clients. Due his low ceilings we suggested that a Samsung Wind Free system be considered as this would reduce any noticeable air flow. The timber construction above the suspended ceiling was ill fitted and repairs had to be carried out before any fan coil installed. All the works were carried out in and around their own busy client appointment schedule.

Peterborough Combined Courts

Peterborough Combined Court was a project that entailed the Supply, Installation and Commission of 5 Mitsubishi Electric VRF systems over 3 floors, comprising of 85 indoor fan coil units. A centralised control system with BMS integration was also incorporated within the scheme allowing full remote access to the system running parameters and controls.  All mechanical works were to be phased into bite size sections giving all contractors small areas to work within each evening which had to be re-instated and handed back to the client following each working shift. As there were such a number of trades involved, co-ordination was a must and constant attendance by the project team and liaison with Mechanical and Principle Contractors enabled this leaving the installation teams to carry out the necessary works. All the AC installation works were installed and commissioned prior to given program dates which is an absolute credit to the installation and commissioning teams involved on this demanding scheme.
"We engaged Whalley Climate ltd to carry out the Air Conditioning works as part of a development to transform a redundant retail unit within one of Leeds’s most vibrant shopping centres into a flag ship store for one the UK’s leading high street retailers. Rob at Whalley assessed the client brief and came up with a twin split proposal which suited the new tenant practically, aesthetically, and financially.

The engineers who attended site were a credit to WC, nothing was too much trouble onsite and their diligent, tidy approach to their task while working within the service areas of the shopping centre was commented upon by various members of the management team. We had a call back from the new store manager a few months after the project was handed over, basically they were confused by the system controller, Rob dropped by helped the manager download the Daikin app to their phone and showed them how to get the most out of their new system.

Robs attention to detail, trade knowledge and all round communication skills are what sets him apart from his competitors, all his projects are well delivered on time and in budget and I look forward to working with Whalley Climate in the future."
